SUNWIN Participates in the Electric Bus Performance Assessment Competition Back List >September 2023

On July 17, the Electric Bus Performance Assessment Competition (2023 EB-PAC), a grand event in the field of national new energy buses, kicked off at China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CMVR) in Western China (Chongqing) Science City. SUNWIN, represented by several key technical experts from its Technical Center, entered the competition with the SWB6119EV01G intelligent low-floor pure electric urban bus. Over the course of three days, SUNWIN, along with representatives from ten other mainstream automobile enterprises, competed for the two individual awards - "Energy Conservation Award" and "Driving Range Award" - and an "All-round Award".

The theme of 2023 EB-PAC is "Supporting the 'Dual Carbon' Strategy and Bolstering Up the Travel Quality". The event was jointly hosted by the China Academy of Transportation Sciences, the Bus Branch of China Highway & Transportation Society, the Urban Passenger Transport Branch of China Road Transport Association, the Administration Committee of Western China (Chongqing) Science City, and CMVR, and organized by CMVR and Chongqing High-tech Development and Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd.

From 2018 to 2020, the competition has been successfully staged in Chongqing for three consecutive years, engaging 39 enterprises and 63 models, thus playing a crucial role in advancing the technological progress of the new energy bus industry and fostering industry exchanges. Building on the experience of the previous three editions, the competition items and rules for 2023 EB-PAC were finalized on the basis of extensive research with bus manufacturers and operators, as well as opinions gathered from experts in universities and research institutes. In addition to the existing evaluation items such as power consumption, driving range, acceleration time, and water fording safety, new items, including smoothness (pulse input) and human electromagnetic protection, were introduced, demonstrating increased concern for passenger experience and healthy travel.

The SWB6119EV01G intelligent low-floor pure electric urban bus, representing SUNWIN in the competition, is a newly developed intelligent connected pure electric urban bus that integrates the resources from SAIC Commercial Vehicle, utilizing a new-generation whole vehicle low-floor architecture platform and power system.

After three days of intense competition, the SWB6119EV01G, with its excellent performance in key testing areas such as power consumption per hundred kilometers and driving range, garnered the "Driving Range Award" in the 10-11 meter category, signifying SUNWIN's commitment to sustainable development in the power consumption domain. Through continuous technological upgrades, SUNWIN seeks to consistently reduce power consumption per hundred kilometers, extend the driving range, and thus address concerns related to "range anxiety" in the field of new energy vehicles.

SUNWIN will continue to align with its development strategy of "electrification, intelligent connectivity, sharing, and internationalization" and center on high-tech, high-value new energy, intelligent connected, and other medium to large-sized bus products in its endeavors to achieve sustainable development.
